For years, August in Leesburg meant one town event, a few Saturday concerts, and a food scene that hadn't changed since the last Flower & Garden Festival. That is not this August.
The town calendar looks familiar. What sits underneath it does not. Between the last twelve months and now, four downtown addresses have either opened, rebranded, or expanded, and the month between the Virginia sales tax holiday and Labor Day is the first stretch where all of them are running at the same time. TASTE Leesburg lands on Saturday, August 8, 2026, and it is the only town-hosted event of the month. Everything else on the August calendar is either a private venue booking or a recurring series winding down.
That matters because TASTE is the one day downtown foot traffic is guaranteed to spike, and it is also the first TASTE where the block between Market Station and the Village at Leesburg reads as a genuine restaurant corridor rather than a stretch punctuated by one or two anchors. Four Doors That Rewrote the Downtown Map

- Hotel Burg, downtown. Two restaurants and a rooftop under one roof. The Huntōn, overseen by Jason Miller of The Wine Kitchen and Executive Chef Vincent Badiee, is formal without being stiff, with reservations essential. The Diana Lounge is the more casual of the two and the rooftop draws the after-work crowd.
- Falcon & Fig, Village at Leesburg on Route 7. Located in the Village at Leesburg in Loudoun County along Route 7, Falcon & Fig is a Mediterranean-inspired restaurant focusing on wine and tapas-style dining. Two housekeeping points for anyone who was a regular at the old tenant: Vino Bistro gift cards continue to be honored under Falcon & Fig, and the Vino Bistro Wine Club continues under the Falcon & Fig concept.
Four doors in twelve months, in a downtown that measures density in blocks, not miles. That is the story the market data will eventually catch up to.

Summer JAMS runs Saturdays 7 to 8:30 p.m., June 6 through August 22, 2026, on the Town Green at 25 West Market Street, with guests bringing blankets or chairs and enjoying a picnic in the heart of downtown. It is also the ten-day window when the Leesburg Saturday Farmers Market at Virginia Village Shopping Center, 30 Catoctin Circle Southeast, open Saturdays 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. year-round with local farms, food vendors, and artisan producers, is at its August peak for tomatoes and stone fruit. The Red Rock Wilderness Overlook Regional Park at 43098 Edwards Ferry Road Northeast, open daily sunrise to sunset, offers wooded trails and scenic Potomac River views. It is the closest thing downtown residents have to a serious river walk, and August mornings before 9 a.m. are the only time of year the humidity cooperates. Get there once before the school year starts.

The pattern under all of this is a downtown that is finally operating like the town its historic footprint always suggested.
