Meet Beckwith
She is the Principal Broker and Owner of Carter Braxton Preferred Properties, an independently owned and operated firm in Middleburg, Virginia. She has been a licensed real estate agent since 2004 and a licensed broker since 2010.
She is recognized as a leading advocate for private property rights, as well as legislative and industry issues affecting Real Estate Agents, with several national speaking credits. Having held several top leadership positions at the Dulles Area Association of REALTORS® (DAAR), Virginia REALTORS® (VAR), and the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR), she has been instrumental in guiding these organizations at the local and state and National level in the areas of governance, finance, and advocacy. In 2019, she served as the President of the Virginia REALTORS®, in 2021 as the Chair of the NAR Meeting and Conference Committee, and in 2022 and 2023 was the Virginia State RPAC Chairman.
She has worked in multiple areas of real estate, including residential home sales, commercial sales and leasing, land sales, development, and conservation. She has been recognized for exceptional business performance, including being the recipient of several awards, such as 2010 REALTOR® of the Year, Multi-Million Dollar Club, DAAR Honor Society, Omega Tau Rho, and the DAAR Community Service Award multiple years, as well as the DAAR Jeanette Newton Community Leadership Award.
She was a college gymnast at Longwood University in Farmville, VA, majoring in Biology, concentrating in Sports Medicine, and minoring in Coaching. Active in her community, she served as President of the Ashburn Soccer Association (now FCV Ashburn) for several years, as a member of the Loudoun County Chesapeake Bay Stakeholders Group, Virginia Housing Advisory Board, Unmet Housing Needs Strategy Group, and Treasurer and Board Member of Friends of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Currently she serves on the Executive Committee for BrightMLS. A long-time resident of Loudoun County, she currently resides in downtown Leesburg, Virginia with her husband Aaron.
In 2023, Beckwith opened The Accidental Peacock, a curated vintage shop in Historic Middleburg. The store serves as a benefit to all of her real estate clients as a way to downsize and re-home their treasured antiques.
